Fiji’s Matava get PADI Project AWARE Award

10th February 2009

Matava Resort, Fiji’s premier eco-adventure resort, is proudly a PADI Project AWARE Environmental Achievement Award winner. The resort was awarded this prestigious title for 2008 thanks in part to their environmental sustainability policies.

PADI’s Project AWARE Foundation is an organisation that recognises the importance of the role of the scuba diving community in protecting the global ecosystems and rewards vision, excellence and pursuit of conservation.

In receiving this award, Matava Resort has demonstrated their commitment to preserve the underwater environments for enjoyment by future generations, by making a positive impact on local communities and the environment.

On top of all that, they provide great diving holidays too!

Matava is an intimate eco-adventure getaway encompassing a unique blend of cultural experiences and adventure, most notably diving. Some of the most pristine sites in Fiji are found off and around the remote island of Kadavu and right on the doorstep of Matava Resort.

Traditional ‘bures’ with hardwood floors, louvre windows and private decks can accommodate up to 22 guests in a comfortable, private setting with excellent ocean views.

The resort is equipped with an on-site diving centre.
