It was a beautifully sunny day and the office was crazy busy, booking a group on a liveaboard holiday and running a few diving courses so all our instructors where occupied.

Then 2 young guys walked in, intent on taking a short diving trip. One of the young men had never dived before, but he was very keen and up for the challenge. His friend was full of encouragement, he was a certified diver with a few dives under his belt, but admitted it had been a while since his last dive.

So, although I was meant to “woman” the office, I polished up my dive instructor credentials and  took them diving! Paradise Reef is a small house reef just a short 5 minute boat ride from Patong Beach. On a good day you will find clear waters and lots of amazing creatures hidden among the coral.

We did 1 dive and everything was perfect.  My student felt great on his first time breathing underwater and his friend was happy to be in the water again. We were delighted to see a rare species of honeycomb moray eel that you don’t see often in this area. Soon we were surrounded by dancing harlequin sweetlips, schools of fusiliers and loads more…
